How Do You Get Up On a Snowboard?

It’s that time of year again, when people all over the UK are planning, or have already planned, their winter sojourn. The temperatures in England have plummeted and, if you decide to head for the mountains, you won’t see a rise, but you will have much more of an adventure and a positive experience if you book one of the snowboard or ski holiday deals that are available online. With luxury ski packages available too, it doesn’t matter what budget you need to adhere to, you can ride the powder on the slopes or hit the terrain parks and show off your moves on the half-pipe in no time.

No matter how familiar you are with a snowboard, a problem faced by many is how to get back up if you have fallen. Toppling head over heels mid-slope can be embarrassing enough without getting stuck trying to straighten yourself out again. Learn a few tricks of the trade to help you smooth yourself down with prowess and ultimate style.

If you have fallen onto your back, or are strapping yourself on to your board from the sitting position, it’s easy to get back into position. If you’re trying to do it on a hill, change your angle so that you’re perpendicular to the hill rather than risking sliding down it – fairly common sense, really.

If you fall onto your knees, bend your knees and walk your hands towards the board and then lean backward to stand up – simple!

If all else fails, just take off the board. This is particularly useful if you have come a cropper in the middle of a precarious part of a piste or run. Simply unbuckle the bindings and take off the board. Move to the boundary of the run and put it back on again. Walking across a run isn’t the best move but it’s better than flailing around on your back.

Whatever moves you adopt, you can be sure to find snowboarding an exhilarating way to let off some steam. Book your winter break, today.
